Jessica at the Moaba camp on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea. Photo by Joel Sartore.Since childhood I have been drawn to the outdoors, and fascinated by the details of everything I found there. Before long I found myself trying to capture those details on film to share with others. It is my hope that the images help in some small way to communicate the importance of the natural world and of the research, outreach, education, conservation, restoration and sustainable development efforts that help protect it for generations to come. Over the years I have also participated in such efforts in many capacities beyond the realm of photography. I now work as a webmaster and science communications specialist for various branches of the National Park Service.
